Project
Cloud Security Labs
Technical lab work focused on Google Cloud deployment, AWS EC2, IAM configuration, Linux environments, Bash automation, firewall setup, and core cloud security concepts.
Overview
This lab work focused on deploying and managing cloud based systems while practicing core security concepts in Google Cloud and Linux based environments. The work involved configuring virtual machines, managing access control through IAM roles and service accounts, setting up firewall rules, and understanding how infrastructure decisions affect both security and usability. It also strengthened my hands on experience with cloud environments, system configuration, and secure service setup.
What I Built and Practiced
- • Deployed and configured virtual machines in Google Cloud for hands on cloud environment setup
- • Worked with IAM roles, service accounts, and permission management to practice secure access control
- • Configured firewall rules and access settings to better understand secure network exposure
- • Performed Linux and Bash based environment tasks as part of cloud system setup and management
- • Practiced identifying how configuration choices in permissions, networking, and access control impact security
- • Built familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts through applied lab based exercises rather than only theory

Challenges
One of the main challenges was learning how small configuration decisions in permissions, networking, and access control could have a major effect on both usability and security. Working through those tradeoffs helped strengthen my understanding of cloud infrastructure, system configuration, and the importance of secure defaults in deployed environments.
